It looks like you may be stuck with me for Social Studies. Here is your summer assignment if this is the case. Whether you travel outside of the US or stay within the borders, keep an eye on the news during the summer months. We will begin with what has happened during the summer months. Enjoy time!

Monday: Labor Day
Tuesday: First day of class. Rm. 303 stuck with me for the day.

Thursday/ Friday: Summer assignment work continues!/ 6-8
Week of 9-10-18
Monday: Complete first draft in class/ Possible edit of draft
Tuesday: Final draft of writing due in class
Wednesday: Work begins on text; Ch. 1, sec.3/ European powers carve up the Americas
Week of 9-17-18
Monday: Begin work on focus question: Examine one reason as to why European countries were in a hurry to colonize the Americas.
Text work: Ch. 2; sec. 1, 2
Tuesday: Org possible main points/ Begin outline work
Wednesday: Outline work in class
Week of 9-24-18
Monday: Finish editing first draft on essay focused on Europeans colonizing the Americas
Tuesday: Begin work on Final drafts
Wednesday: Final draft of colonizing the Americas essay is now due!!!!!
Week of 10-1-18
Monday: All unfinished colonization of the America's essays are now past due
Continue in class research on how life for Europeans and Native Americans had changed because of colonization
Tuesday: Outline work begins
Wednesday: First draft work
Thursday: Editing of essays

Monday/ Tuesday: Editing work is completed

Monday: Text research for possible topics connected to the focus question.
